This clinic provides essential services, including annual vaccines, rabies vaccinations, and microchipping. Katie Hofschield, Director of Marketing at the Humane Society of Western Montana, emphasized the importance of vaccinations in preventing serious diseases in pets, such as canine parvovirus, which can be life-threatening.
As the Fourth of July approaches, microchipping becomes particularly crucial since many pets go missing during the holiday weekend due to fireworks. Hofschield noted, "A microchip is a great failsafe if your dog slips their collar," stressing the need for these services ahead of the holiday.
Pet owners should expect long wait times. Dogs must be kept on a leash, while cats should be transported in carriers. Vaccinations for cats will be administered in the Humane Society's van. Upon registration, pet owners will provide their phone numbers and wait in their cars until they receive a call indicating it is their pet's turn.
