Seguin Observes Remember Me Thursday to Promote Pet Adoption

Seguin, Texas—A local non-profit organization, the Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF Texas), is raising awareness about the need for increased pet adoptions in the community. Mayor Donna Dodgen proclaimed Thursday, September 24 as Remember Me Thursday Day in Seguin, highlighting ARF Texas's efforts to promote pet adoption and honor the numerous animal shelters nationwide.

While reading the proclamation, Mayor Dodgen noted the commitment of ARF Texas board members and volunteers to advocate for orphaned pets. She stated, "Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF Texas) is participating in Remember Me Thursday; and the candle lighting ceremony aims to remember all orphaned animals who died without a loving home while also shining a light on those still waiting for their forever homes in Seguin and Guadalupe County."

As a dog owner herself, Dodgen emphasized the importance of increasing awareness around pet adoption. She remarked that the campaign would help draw attention to orphaned pets in Seguin, ultimately leading to more successful adoptions.

Remember Me Thursday, recognized internationally, features a social media event and awareness campaign. ARF Texas invites residents of Seguin and Guadalupe County to join a public candle lighting ceremony from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in downtown Seguin, encouraging individuals to honor their own pets and promote the need for more local pet adoptions and care.
