Lee County Domestic Animal Services in Fort Myers is reducing adoption fees for dogs and cats during October as part of its "Pumpkin Spice and Everything Nice" promotion. From October 1 through Halloween, the fees will be $30 for dogs and $20 for cats and kittens for those with an approved adoption application. The shelter has a variety of pets available for adoption, including animals of all ages, sizes, and personalities.

Adopted pets come with a comprehensive package that includes spay or neuter surgery, age-appropriate vaccinations, a county license, a microchip with registration, a 10-day health check and guarantee, and heartworm treatment for dogs that test positive. Adoptions are conducted at the shelter located at 5600 Banner Drive, with hours from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Those interested in adopting can submit an application online, print it out, or complete it in person at the shelter, with adoptions processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, for those who are not ready to adopt, Lee County offers a fostering program and the Weekend Warrior program, allowing community members to provide temporary care for shelter pets.
