ZANESVILLE, Ohio – This week's featured Dog of the Week at the Muskingum County Sheriff’s K-9 Adoption Center is Andrea, a terrier mix known for her affectionate personality. Although she is friendly with people, Andrea is selective with other dogs. Prospective adopters are encouraged to bring their own pets for a meet-and-greet to see how well they interact.

Doug McQuaid, a volunteer at the K-9 Adoption Center, described Andrea's temperament. "She can be very chill, but also playful," he said. He noted that she keeps her kennel clean, takes treats well, knows several commands, and walks nicely on a leash. McQuaid emphasized that Andrea would thrive in an active household, possibly with older children, and would benefit from daily walks.
With high temperatures expected in the upcoming week, McQuaid reminded pet owners to keep their dogs cool. "Heat can be very detrimental to our pets. Change their water frequently, and if possible, let them stay indoors during the hottest parts of the day," he advised. He added that pets often enjoy spending time with their owners, so extra care is essential during warm weather.
