Fisher was known for running the Tilley Farm sanctuary, which provided shelter for rescued horses, ponies, and donkeys. She lived in Bath with her partner, the late actor Anthony Head, recognized for his roles in *Buffy the Vampire Slayer* and *Little Britain*. She died at home surrounded by family on December 23, 2022, after receiving treatments that included radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
Her daughter, Emily Head, an actress known for her work in *The Inbetweeners* and *Emmerdale*, provided a statement during the inquest, indicating that Fisher remained active and determined despite her terminal diagnosis. Emily noted that her mother continued to care for the animals at the sanctuary and take long walks with her dogs, emphasizing that Fisher refused to let her illness define her.
Fisher's health issues began with a benign thyroid nodule diagnosis in August 2019. By June 2022, she returned to her doctor's office due to swelling in the area. Subsequent tests led to a referral to an ear, nose, and throat specialist. In September 2022, she received a devastating diagnosis of anaplastic thyroid cancer, an aggressive form of the disease.
Dr. Matthew Beasley, a consultant oncologist, stated that Fisher lived only three months after the diagnosis, a common outcome for such aggressive cancer. Area coroner Dr. Peter Harrowing concluded the inquest, ruling her death as resulting from natural causes and extended condolences to her family.
Fisher was highly regarded in the animal welfare community, serving as a patron of Holly Hedge Animal Sanctuary and actively supporting various charities such as Battersea Cats and Dogs Home. A spokesperson for Battersea expressed deep sorrow over her loss, highlighting her contributions to animal welfare.
