The 22nd edition of the joint military exercise between India and the United States, Yudh Abhyas 2026, is currently being held at Auli in Uttarakhand and the Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan. The primary goal of Yudh Abhyas 2026 is to enhance the operational capacity of both armies in mountainous and semi-mountainous terrains. It focuses on infantry-led operations and Integrated Battle Groups. The exercise also allows for the exchange of tactics and techniques, with discussions on emerging technologies relevant to multi-domain warfare.
In addition to the technological focus, the field training phase incorporates counter-IED, counter-UAS, and sniper operations, alongside mountain warfare and cold-weather training.
