Williamson County Animal Center (WCAC) is collaborating with Mars for Global Adoption Weekend on October 2 and 3, 2026. Recent research by Mars indicates that many potential pet adopters hesitate due to uncertainties regarding a pet's medical history, behavior, or compatibility with their home. To address these concerns, Mars and its shelter partners aim to facilitate confident adoptions.

During the event, WCAC will offer adoption opportunities and volunteer activities to connect adoptable pets with interested families and promote awareness of pet adoption. Mars and its family of pet care brands, alongside Adopt A Pet Shelter Plus, will cover up to $100,000 in adoption fees for cats and dogs at participating U.S. shelters, including WCAC. Additionally, the PEDIGREE Foundation will contribute up to $25,000 in support for dog adoption fees across participating shelters and rescues.
New pet owners will also receive adoption kits filled with pet food and essential supplies. WCAC operates Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; it is closed on Sundays. The center is located at 1006 Grigsby Hayes Court in Franklin.
