McQuaid emphasized that adopting a puppy like Berry involves a significant commitment. He noted, “Berry is a pup. So, Berry will need a lot of training, a lot of time, patience, and effort. You can teach a pup to do about anything.” He also highlighted the importance of monitoring the puppy and establishing a regular routine, especially for bathroom training.

For those who love dogs but cannot adopt, volunteering at the K-9 Adoption Center is an option. McQuaid mentioned, “We’re always looking for volunteers. All the dogs that usually come in are dogs that are unknown about their situation and circumstances.” Volunteers help learn about the dogs to better promote them for adoption.

Interested individuals can call (740)-453-0273 to find out more about volunteering or adopting a dog like Berry, and they can also follow the Muskingum County K-9 Adoption Center’s Facebook page for updates.
