HENDERSON, Nev. — Friends of Henderson Animal Support (FOHAS) reported the theft of several thousand dollars' worth of supplies intended for its adoption events from a storage unit on Horizon Ridge. The organization, which collaborates with the Henderson Animal Shelter, indicated that surveillance footage captured two women entering the unit after hours by climbing over the main gate.

Kenni Burdette, co-founder of FOHAS, shared that the estimated loss amounts to about $7,000, including five large bins filled with dog life jackets, beds, treats, and toys. Burdette remarked on the profound loss, noting that the value of these items becomes apparent only after realizing they are gone.
The Henderson Police Department confirmed that they responded to the burglary on Saturday, September 19, in the 80 block of East Horizon Ridge Parkway, clarifying that the incident occurred at FOHAS's storage unit and not at the shelter itself. The investigation into the theft is currently ongoing.
FOHAS is requesting assistance from the community to help replenish its supplies, which are essential for training and enrichment at the Henderson shelter and for local animal rescues. By Monday morning, numerous donations had already begun arriving at their office.
