Rocky had been left to survive on his own after his owner passed away. Fortunately, a neighbor alerted the rescue charity to his dire situation. When rescuers arrived, they found Rocky had lost most of his fur and was struggling with his back legs.
Moved by Rocky's plight, Ashley set out to help him while a temporary foster caregiver took him in for the first 48 hours.
When Rocky arrived at Ashley’s home, he immediately curled up on his bed and slept for two days, seemingly recovering from months of exhaustion. Ashley took him to the vet, where tests indicated he was suffering from mange, fleas, dermatitis, and heartworm. He was severely dehydrated, underweight, and had weakened hind legs.
Despite his challenges, Rocky's resilience shone through. His fur began to regrow, his legs strengthened, and he started to run joyfully on his walks. What began as a foster arrangement quickly turned into a permanent adoption for Ashley. Two months post-rescue, Rocky is thriving in his new forever home, surrounded by the love of his family.
