First Responders Credit Union to Host Family Fun Day for Working Dogs

First Responders Credit Union will hold a Firehouse Comfort Dog Family Fun Day on Wednesday, October 7, from 12 PM to 4 PM at 60 Hallet Street in Dorchester. The event aims to raise awareness and funds for firehouse dogs, police K9s, and comfort dogs that support first responders.

Attendees can interact with animals from Firehouse Dogs, enjoy a reading of "Millie the Brave" by author and Somerville firefighter Danielle O’Hearn, and meet Paw Patrol characters Marshall and Chase. The Boston Fire Department Education Unit will also participate, featuring fire trucks and educational activities, along with Danielle Milner, the President & CEO of First Responders Credit Union.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Firehouse Dogs, a nonprofit organization that provides nutritious food and medical care for working K9s, including Millie, a comfort dog. The event will take place outdoors, but in the event of inclement weather, activities will be relocated to Florian Hall at 55 Hallet Street.
