According to Sarah Welton-Blake, founder of Community Hours, 150 doses of the 5-in-1 canine vaccination will be available. The event operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no appointments necessary; however, pet owners can email [email protected] to request a vaccination in advance, and organizers will try to accommodate those requests.

Welton-Blake emphasized the importance of pet owners bringing their dogs’ vaccination cards to check their vaccination history. If owners cannot locate their cards, they may purchase a replacement for R50 at the event. All dogs must be on leads, and cats should be transported in suitable carriers.

The initiative reflects Community Hours' commitment to fostering stronger communities and promoting responsible pet ownership. Welton-Blake noted that high vaccination costs can be a barrier for families, and the vaccination day aims to address this challenge while enhancing animal well-being in public spaces like Kingfisher Park.
