Kennesaw police are investigating a vandalism incident involving the Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue van, which was covered in black spray paint for the second time this year. The damage is estimated at up to $7,000. Surveillance footage recorded the vandal entering the property, pulling out a spray paint can, and defacing the van, which previously displayed the shelter's logo and images of animals.

Tammy Turley, executive director of Mostly Mutts, described how the vandal sprayed the side of the van until it was covered in a blob of paint. She expressed frustration, stating that the funds required for repainting could have been better used to save the lives of dogs and cats in their care. Turley emphasized the cruelty of destroying property dedicated to helping animals.
Kennesaw police are increasing patrols in the area and believe the suspect may live nearby, as the video indicates he walked to the shelter rather than arriving by vehicle. The police have yet to identify the individual shown in the footage and are investigating whether it is the same person who vandalized the van and a larger trailer back in January.
In that earlier incident, both the van and the trailer were also defaced with graffiti, and the circumstances appear similar to the recent act of vandalism. Although the suspect's face is not visible in the video, the physical description aligns with that of the January perpetrator. Turley suggested the vandal consider volunteering at the shelter instead of engaging in destructive behavior, inviting him to help save lives instead.
