The 28th annual Rochester Careers in Construction Day will take place at the Monroe County Fleet Center, where more than 1,200 local students are expected to attend. The event features over 55 exhibitors, including employers, construction unions, and training providers, offering information on training and apprenticeship options. Attendees can participate in hands-on activities and view outdoor heavy equipment displays. The fair will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at Building 11, located at 145 Paul Rd.

Meanwhile, a job fair will be hosted at the YMCA on Pearl Street in Medina from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Organized by the Orleans County Job Development Agency, the event will feature over a dozen employers from various industries. No registration is required, but attendees are encouraged to bring their resumes and be ready for interviews.

Additionally, Lollypop Farm will offer free cat adoptions on Thursday at both its Fairport campus and the Greece Ridge Mall adoption center. Appointments are necessary for all adoptions, though kittens will not be included in the free offer. For the Fairport location, check-in will begin at 9:30 a.m., with adoptions starting at 10 a.m. and running until 5 p.m. or until capacity is reached. The Greece location will operate during its normal hours, or until no pets remain available.

Potential adopters are advised to bring their own cat carriers for transportation. Lollypop Farm also offers a pet foster program for those unable to commit to a long-term adoption.
