Firefighters Rescue Dog from 50-Foot Well in West Pelzer, S.C.

West Pelzer, S.C. - Early Monday morning, the West Pelzer Fire Department successfully rescued a dog that had fallen into a 50-foot abandoned well. Crews responded to the call around 12:30 a.m. Upon arrival, they assessed the situation and determined that atmospheric conditions necessitated the use of supplied air for the rescue operation. One rescuer entered the well, secured the dog, and brought it back to the surface, reuniting the pet with its owners. The response involved assistance from the Anderson Technical Rescue Team, Anderson City Fire Department, Williamston Fire Department, and Whitefield Fire Department.
