The Harlingen Health Department is organizing a free pet vaccination clinic on October 10. Initially, 200 registration spots were available, but the department is now reopening some slots after discovering that several registrants live outside of Harlingen city limits.

Shannon Harvill, the Environmental Health Director, stated that while all initial spots were filled quickly, the department will contact those outside the city to free up about 20 spots. Each registration is required for individual pets, and households can register up to five pets.
Additionally, another pet vaccination clinic is scheduled for November.
