Milam County Sheriff Mike Clore expressed gratitude for the support from Brandywine Valley SPCA, highlighting their expertise and efforts to assist the animals. Over a dozen staff members from the organization traveled to Texas to evaluate and transport the dogs, and they also removed a horse from the property.
Among the rescued animals was a senior mixed breed named Baby Reina, who was found severely emaciated and dehydrated. She received emergency care but has since been discharged from the hospital and is currently recovering with Brandywine Valley SPCA.
BVSPCA CEO Adam Lamb stated that the team was committed to ensuring a better future for every animal at Dogtown Ranch once they arrived on site. Some of the dogs have already arrived in Pennsylvania, with more being moved to adoption sites soon.
To encourage adoptions, Brandywine Valley SPCA is waiving fees for adult dogs aged six months and older at their Delaware and Pennsylvania locations, as well as at several partner shelters. This rescue initiative is part of a broader effort, as the organization anticipates caring for over 30,000 animals this year. They are seeking donations to help cover medical care, transportation, and daily needs for the rescued animals.
