Accessing timely veterinary care remains a significant challenge for many pet owners in India, especially in non-metro areas, during emergencies, or for pets that have difficulty traveling. Dr. Vikas Godara, a veterinarian and entrepreneur, aims to bridge this gap with Vetezy, an online platform designed to connect pet parents with registered veterinarians.

Dr. Godara trained in India and gained experience in emergency and critical care in the United States, where he served as a Medical Director in California. His experience provided insight into how online consultations could offer immediate support, whether for a second opinion late at night or ongoing care for chronic conditions. Observing that many pets in India missed out on vital care due to accessibility issues while running his clinic, Pet Panacea, in Hisar, he founded Vetezy to provide similar care across India.
Pet parents encounter several barriers while seeking veterinary services: veterinarians may be unavailable during nights, weekends, or in smaller towns; few are trained in small-animal medicine; clinic visits can be stressful for pets; and those with long-term illnesses often face challenges in obtaining regular follow-ups.
Vetezy addresses these issues by allowing pet owners to choose a veterinarian, schedule appointments, view prices upfront, and receive treatment plans from home. This ensures that one veterinarian can maintain continuity of care for the pet over time.
The platform’s name, “Vetezy,” combines “vet” and “easy,” reflecting Dr. Godara's goal of simplifying access to veterinary care as seamlessly as booking a transport service. The platform emphasizes user-friendliness, particularly for first-time users, and a mobile app is set to be launched soon.
To uphold the quality of care, all veterinarians on Vetezy are verified and registered with the Veterinary Council of India (VCI). Pet parents can review each veterinarian's qualifications before booking and will receive clear recommendations for in-person visits when necessary.
Dr. Godara believes Vetezy distinguishes itself from competitors through features such as enabling pet parents to select their veterinarian and appointment times, transparent pricing without hidden charges, improved video consultation capabilities, and prompt delivery of written treatment plans within 24 hours.
Building the veterinary network was relatively straightforward for Dr. Godara, but gaining the trust of pet owners was more challenging. Vetezy focuses on demonstrating the credibility of its veterinarians, providing practical pet care advice on social media, and encouraging satisfied customers to share their experiences, believing that establishing trust is crucial for long-term success.
Vetezy is currently bootstrapped, which Dr. Godara views as a method to maintain discipline in operations. He underlines the importance of quality over rapid growth in healthcare, indicating openness to external funding from partners aligned with Vetezy's vision.
The platform also emphasizes clinical responsibility by ensuring that veterinarians are trained to identify emergency situations that require immediate clinic visits, such as breathing difficulties or severe trauma.
Looking ahead, Dr. Godara envisions Vetezy evolving into a comprehensive pet health platform, planning to include prescription deliveries, curated pet products, and at-home diagnostic services, all aimed at ensuring that no pet in India misses out on proper care.
Vetezy's strategy is built on educating pet owners and fostering relationships with them. By providing vet-approved health tips and ensuring follow-ups after consultations, Vetezy positions itself as a trusted ally for pet parents.
