The congress, which is co-hosted by the Polish Small Animal Veterinary Association (PSAVA) and the Federation of European Companion Animal Veterinary Associations (FECAVA), will focus on the importance of nutrition in veterinary practice. Topics to be discussed include canine atopic dermatitis, antimicrobial stewardship, and feline kidney disease.
Dr. Marianne Lomberg, Head of Purina Institute, emphasized the value of the congress, stating, "The WSAVA World Congress offers an important opportunity to listen, learn, and share science that can make a difference in everyday veterinary practice. Through our ongoing partnership with WSAVA, we are helping make nutrition knowledge more accessible and actionable so veterinary teams can support healthier, longer lives for pets."
In addition to the congress, Purina Institute collaborates with various WSAVA committees and initiatives aimed at integrating science into practical veterinary applications. This includes contributions to the Nutrition, Education, Animal Welfare, and Wellness Committees, as well as efforts related to One Health and Therapeutics. The organization also supports regional Continuing Education events, an annual webinar series, and the WSAVA Nutrition Guidelines Course.
