Allan Moulton, hailing from Tetonia, Idaho, is a member of the Class of 2027 at Washington State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. He earned his undergraduate degree in Animal Science from Brigham Young University – Idaho and has a keen interest in equine, large animal, and theriogenology.

Raised on a fifth-generation family farm in southeastern Idaho, Moulton developed a deep appreciation for agriculture and livestock, which influenced his desire to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. His family managed both beef and dairy cattle, and the introduction of shire horses came when his father inherited two mares from Allan’s great-grandfather. These early experiences fostered a strong connection with animals.
“I wanted a career in agriculture and around animals, but I also wanted to be able to provide for a family,” Moulton said. He was inspired by his uncle’s life and decided to follow a similar path in veterinary medicine.
At WSU, he is honing his skills for working with large animal patients, focusing on equine sports medicine and reproduction. He appreciates the support and mentorship from WSU's faculty and clinicians.
“Some of the professors and clinicians have become great mentors and friends,” he noted.
After graduation, Moulton plans to return to Idaho for mixed-animal practice, continuing to develop his veterinary interests.
Outside of academics and clinical work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Kassdee, and their three children, working on the family farm, watching college and international wrestling, following the Yankees, and caring for his quarter horse mare, Jules. He also shares a Navajo song with his children at bedtime, which he learned to sing for them.
