The unit was previously used for the storage and distribution of heating supplies and has been empty prior to the application. The development will include indoor enrichment and exercise spaces, designated areas for grooming and rest, a secure outdoor area for supervised toilet breaks, and a drop-off and collection point for dog owners.
To enhance security, the plans involve installing timber fencing panels and secure metal gates for the outdoor space, along with internal partitioning and soft play structures specifically designed for dogs.
The centre will occupy approximately 250 square metres and is projected to create three jobs: one full-time and two part-time positions. It will operate on weekdays from 8 am to 6 pm.
The planning documents indicate that waste generated will be stored in sealed bins and collected by a licensed waste contractor, adhering to hygiene and environmental standards.
