A springer spaniel, known as Cloud, has been rehomed in Hull after being rescued along with 83 other dogs from a private residence in Doncaster in April 2025. RSPCA officers described the conditions in which the dogs were found as "squalid," marking it as one of the worst cases they had encountered in their careers.

Morgan Bulman, 22, and Luke Shepherd, 29, are now Cloud's adoptive owners. They noted that while she took time to adjust to her new home, she is "just perfect." Luke mentioned Cloud struggled to relax on her first night, a likely result of never having experienced a comfortable home environment before.

Morgan speculated that Cloud's picture, where she was seen on the staircase, might have resonated with many, leading to her wide appeal. The couple expressed interest in connecting with other adopters of the rescued dogs.

Cloud was among several spaniels saved from the property, including Spring, Autumn, Summer, and Polly, who was just three months old at the time of rescue. Lisa Marchant, who adopted Polly, shared that Polly has adapted well to her new family, including children and a cat. She noted that the remnants of Polly's previous neglect were disappearing, highlighting her progress.

On September 29, David Parkes, a children's social worker, was found guilty of failing to ensure the welfare of the animals. He denied responsibility, stating that his wife, Delphine Parkes, and son, Sam Parkes, were primarily responsible for their care. Delphine and Sam pleaded guilty to similar charges earlier this year. The trio is set for sentencing on December 9. Following the rescue, one dog had to be euthanized due to health issues, but the remaining dogs have all been successfully rehomed.
