Polly and Nacho, two blind cats rescued from the streets of Beirut, Lebanon, found their forever home together at Tabby’s Place, a cat sanctuary in New Jersey. Their journeys unfolded separately, with Nacho being adopted exactly one year after Polly, leading to an extraordinary coincidence as they now share the same adoption anniversary.

Polly's rescue began with Animals Lebanon, which works to enhance animal welfare through various initiatives. She was blind, frightened, and FIV-positive, having endured significant trauma. Polly's new life unfolded when she arrived at Tabby’s Place, a sanctuary dedicated to helping cats with advanced medical and behavioral needs.
Nacho, also rescued by Animals Lebanon, faced a similar fate. His eyes were beyond repair, but he was given a fresh start after his move to Tabby’s Place, following in Polly's footsteps. The sanctuary was founded by Jonathan Rosenberg in memory of his beloved cat, Tabby, and focuses on cats often overlooked due to age or health issues.
Over time, both cats adapted to their new lives. Polly, initially terrified and withdrawn, transformed into a loving lap cat, especially devoted to her adopter, Ronda. “We’ve learned so much from Polly, especially that with patience comes trust, and with trust comes love,” Ronda shared.
Nacho has become an active and playful companion, enjoying games and bonding with Polly, who now loves being close to her family. Though they faced uncertain beginnings in Beirut, their paths crossed leading them to a better life together in New Jersey. Today, they thrive as siblings, forever marked by their shared adoption day and their journey from vulnerable strays to beloved pets.
