Other notable attendees comprised Dr. Shafiul Ahad Sardar Swapan from the Bangladesh Veterinary Association, Dr. Rezaul Karim Mia, president of Vet Executive, and Dr. Md. The seminar focused on the significance of practical veterinary education, emphasizing animal health protection, disease prevention and control, and the necessity of skilled veterinarians in modern livestock management. Discussions underscored that theoretical learning alone is insufficient for developing competent veterinarians, pointing out that hands-on field experience is critical in preparing graduates for real-world challenges in the livestock industry.
Speakers stressed that veterinarians are essential for ensuring safe animal-source food production and improving public health. They called for newly qualified veterinarians to gain contemporary knowledge and practical skills for identifying animal diseases and ensuring quality veterinary services.
The speakers expressed hope that such scientific seminars would facilitate knowledge exchange and enhance students' professional skills and responsibility, ultimately contributing to the sustainable development of Bangladesh's livestock sector.
