The company has conducted four clinical trials with a total of 54 cats, demonstrating that their HypoCat vaccine produces significant levels of antibodies that can neutralize allergens released by these animals. Dr. Gary Jennings, CEO of HypoPet, expressed satisfaction with the data, noting its implications for allergy sufferers.
In addition to alleviating pet allergies, researchers also indicated that the vaccine could help reduce the risk of childhood asthma in homes with cats. HypoPet anticipates that the vaccine will be available in the United States in the near future.
