At the event, newly adopted pets received free microchips. Additionally, families could get their current pets microchipped for a nominal fee of $10. News On 6 and its radio partners participated, along with numerous vendors and rescue organizations.
Holly Standlee from the Oklahoma Alliance for Animals noted that most participants were volunteers. "It’s actually really heartwarming to see all the people, because everybody out here are animal lovers," Standlee said. While Woofstock successfully brought the community together for a day centered around pet adoption and animal welfare, shelters and rescue groups throughout Oklahoma continue to seek volunteers, foster families, and adopters.
