Ponderay — Better Together Animal Alliance (BTAA) announced plans to hold additional free pet vaccine clinics this fall, despite the Oct. 17 clinic being fully booked. These vaccines are provided through Petco Love's national initiative, Vaccinated and Loved, which has delivered over four million free vaccines to animal welfare partners like BTAA.

The Vaccinated and Loved campaign aims to combat preventable diseases in pets by distributing free vaccines. BTAA officials emphasize that this initiative helps eliminate access barriers to essential pet health care. The vaccines combat highly preventable diseases such as parvovirus and distemper in dogs, and panleukopenia in cats.
Survey data from pet owners attending free clinics indicates that only 38% reported their pets receiving similar vaccines previously. The upcoming clinics will administer DAPPv Canine and HCP Feline vaccines.
Sarah Berry, BTAA's director of operations, highlighted the importance of Petco Love's partnership, stating, "Access to preventive care is critical. When we remove access barriers, more pets stay protected — and that benefits our entire community."
Dig Chrismer, BTAA's storytelling and public relations manager, noted that these community clinics often serve as a gateway for financially strained families to begin routine veterinary care. Petco Love President Chelsea Staley added that nearly half of surveyed attendees consider the vaccine clinics their first step in establishing a veterinary care routine. "It’s more than just a single shot. It’s about preventing disease in the long term and opening the door for families to a lifetime of care," Staley said.
Petco Love's Vaccinated and Loved initiative began in 2021 and encourages animal welfare partners to host vaccine clinics. For further details, visit BTAA's website at bettertogetheranimalalliance.org or contact them directly at 208-265-7297.
