Animal rescue organizations from the Cape Fear region will unite in Leland next month for an adoption and fundraising event. Petsense Leland will hold its Fall 2026 Adopt-a-thon on Saturday, October 3, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1215 West Gate Drive.

This event offers attendees a chance to meet dogs, cats, and other animals available for adoption through various participating rescue organizations. Notable groups expected to participate include Feline Matchmakers, Wagon Tails Farm Rescue, Cape Fear Critters Rescue, Empowering Paws Rescue, Coastal Carolina St. Bernard Rescue, Hamilton’s Healing Hearts Rescue, It’s a Jungle Pet Rescue, Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Animal Protective Services, Addie Catz Sanctuary, and Pender County Humane Society.
In addition to pet adoptions, attendees can enjoy offerings from more than 40 vendors, crafters, and small businesses, as well as food and drink trucks. Leland Fire and Rescue will also be part of the event.
Various activities including raffles, giveaways, games, and family-friendly events will take place throughout the day, making it a fun and engaging experience while supporting local animal rescue efforts.
