Happy Endings No Kill Cat Shelter, a nonprofit organization established in 1994, is moving from its current location on Forest Home Avenue in Milwaukee to a larger facility at 10506 W. Blue Mound Road in Wauwatosa. The shelter, which has typically been cramped in its 800 square feet, will expand to nearly 5,000 square feet in its new building, located just across from the Milwaukee County Zoo.

Nicole Wells, president of the shelter, noted the significant upgrade in space, expressing excitement about the move during a visit to the current location in August. The relocation process began early this year when Happy Endings applied for a conditional use permit for the new site. Renovations have since been underway, and the move is anticipated to occur later this year.

As part of the transition, Happy Endings will hold its annual Litters & Bidders fundraising auction on October 10 at the Zoofari Conference Center, located at 9715 W. Bluemound Road. The event aims to support the shelter’s ongoing operations, with doors opening at 11 a.m. and bidding starting at noon.

With approximately 50,000 residents, Wauwatosa is set to welcome around 75 shelter cats from Happy Endings as they prepare for this significant new chapter.
