Cynthia Chomos, founder of Catio Spaces, noted the importance of catios, stating that they enhance feline safety and provide outdoor enrichment. She advised that bored indoor cats might resort to misbehavior, and many owners feel compelled to let their pets outside, which can lead to dangerous situations.
Spokane, Washington, ranked second on the list, with 15 percent of homes offering cat-friendly features. Other cities in the top ten include Orlando, Florida; Bellingham, Washington; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Raleigh, North Carolina; New York City; Dayton, Ohio; Clarksville, Tennessee; and San Antonio, Texas.
Cities like Corvallis also have access to cat-specific clinics and low environmental hazards, which are beneficial for pet health. Daryl Fairweather, Redfin's chief economist, emphasized that when purchasing a home, buyers often consider their pets' needs alongside their own.
Millennials, in particular, are increasingly focusing on their pets when purchasing homes, making it vital to find neighborhoods that accommodate the entire family, including furry members.
