The Sato Project, an animal rescue organization, has initiated a campaign designed to enhance the adoption of rescue dogs through their interactions with art. Named "The Rescue Collection," the campaign was created by BLKJ Havas Singapore and Havas New York in collaboration with Powerhouse Arts. Its goal is to shift perceptions of rescue dogs by focusing on their personalities rather than their breed, appearance, or past experiences.

As part of this initiative, dogs from The Sato Project visited Powerhouse Arts in Brooklyn, New York, where they had the opportunity to explore an art gallery. Their reactions to the artwork were observed by animal welfare scientist Holly Molinaro, who utilized these responses to develop personalized art collections for each dog. These collections aim to provide potential adopters with a unique insight into each dog’s character.

The campaign also includes a dedicated website, "The Rescue Collection," where visitors can view the dogs and their respective art collections, as well as search for adoptable rescue dogs worldwide.

This campaign is launched amid ongoing challenges in animal adoption. In 2025, over 2.8 million dogs entered shelters in the U.S., and animal welfare organizations in Singapore are reporting their lowest adoption rates since 2019.

In addition, this endeavor follows other recent campaigns that have creatively showcased pets. In June, Blackmores introduced the "Pawlympics," an integrated campaign aimed at encouraging Singaporeans to outwalk their pets, while highlighting joint, muscle, and bone health. Blackmores noted research indicating that some pets may take around 18,000 steps a day, significantly more than the average office worker's 5,000 steps.
