Lollypop Farm in Perinton, N.Y., is now caring for 55 cats following a request for assistance from their caretaker, who is experiencing housing insecurity. According to the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, the caretaker reached out for help before the situation escalated to an unsafe level.

On Tuesday, Lollypop's Animal Emergency Response Team responded by removing the cats from the home and transporting them to the facility, where they will undergo veterinary evaluations and receive necessary care.
Erin Sandle, director of admissions and community resources at Lollypop Farm, emphasized the importance of reaching out for help in difficult times, stating, "Our community should know that when circumstances change and someone is struggling to care for the animals they love, Lollypop Farm is here to help."
The organization is currently focused on providing care for the cats, which are not yet available for adoption. Lollypop Farm's staff from various departments collaborated in a large-scale effort to handle the animals, document their conditions, and coordinate their transportation and sheltering.
Community members interested in supporting Lollypop Farm can donate food, blankets, toys, and other supplies. The organization is also looking for foster caregivers to help create additional space at the shelter.
