The CVMP adopted a positive opinion for the marketing authorisation of Bovilis Lumpyvax, a vaccine for lumpy skin disease designed to immunise cattle against the virus, in exceptional circumstances.
Additionally, the Committee approved marketing authorisation for Stemyca, which consists of equine umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells aimed at reducing clinical signs of non-food-responsive chronic inflammatory enteropathy in dogs.
A variation for Mirataz, containing mirtazapine, was also positively reviewed. This update revised the product information to reflect new data regarding target animal safety, highlighting that overdosing could lead to known adverse effects such as erythema and alopecia at the application site.
The CVMP provided a positive opinion on the re-examination of Vaxxitek HVT+IBD+H5, an avian influenza vaccine, recommending a one-year extension of its marketing authorisation under exceptional circumstances.
Regarding Vetmedin 1.5 mg/ml oral solution for dogs, the Committee concluded its procedure after the European Commission requested clarifications due to a lack of consensus among Member States on efficacy grounds. By majority vote, the CVMP determined that the product's benefit-risk balance for the proposed indication is positive. This information will be forwarded to the European Commission for review.
The Committee also adopted two scientific advice reports related to a pharmaceutical and an immunological product for Atlantic salmon.
In response to a request, the CVMP designated a product classified as antiparasitic for dogs as intended for a limited market and not eligible for authorisation under Article 23 of Regulation (EU) 2019/6.
