On Monday, detectives from the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office found dogs that were injured, underweight, and living in unsanitary conditions without access to food or water. Investigators identified 38-year-old Ashley Georgia as the sole caregiver responsible for the animals.

All of the dogs were removed from the property and are currently receiving medical treatment. Georgia faces 30 charges of first-degree animal cruelty as reported by local news sources. In light of these developments, Desert Hot Springs opted to terminate its partnership with the rescue organization.
