Fendi, a 2-year-old Black Labrador mix, recently found a new home after experiencing anxiety and fear in the shelter environment. At 70 pounds, Fendi was the largest dog at the Humane Society in Broward County and often curled up in a ball in the back of her kennel in an attempt to make herself invisible to cope with the chaotic setting she was thrust into after being surrendered by her family.

A TikTok video from @humanebroward announced her adoption, highlighting her transformation. The post stated, "Fendi has been adopted! Our biggest dog who spent her days trying to make herself small enough to disappear has found her forever family, and she even got a built-in best friend."
Fendi's new family includes a canine brother named Django, who also resembles her. Immediately upon meeting her new family, Fendi showed signs of relief and happiness, wagging her tail and engaging playfully with Django. The shelter shared, "Django is already helping Fendi come out of her shell, showing her how to be brave and giving her the confidence to finally relax and just be a dog again!"
The post concluded with hopes for Fendi's future, stating that she would spend her days exploring with Django and experiencing the love and joy she deserves, finally realizing she does not have to make herself small anymore. This story first appeared in the Pet News section of Parade Pets.
