The Purr Lounge officially opened on the 5th of this month. Unlike traditional cat cafes where visitors simply observe, this space encourages active participation in animal welfare by aiding in the recovery and adoption of rescued stray cats. Cats housed at Purr Lounge receive necessary health checkups and tailored emotional care and socialization training to help them acclimate to potential new homes.
Medical services are provided by the Sono Veterinary Foundation, which has partnered with Gangwon State to enhance both stray cat adoptions and medical aid for companion animals. The adoption process at Purr Lounge follows the "Purr Bridge" protocol, requiring prospective adopters to undergo thorough interviews, assessments of their living conditions, and training to become responsible guardians. This approach aims to minimize the chances of future abandonment.
In addition to its adoption services, Purr Lounge also offers a "Purr Pass," which features merchandise with the lounge's mascot, "PURU," and includes beverage vouchers for the on-site café, "Flower Flow." All profits from these sales are dedicated to supporting the protection and adoption of stray cats.
