FRANKENMUTH, Mich. - The Frankenmuth Dog Bowl has achieved a new record in charitable giving, donating $57,000 to support Police K9 units, dog rescue organizations, and local public safety initiatives. This event is recognized as the world's largest Olympic-style festival for dogs.

This year's funds include $19,500 designated for active Police K9 units, which will assist with training, medical care, equipment, and other essential needs for these working dogs. Additionally, $23,000 has been allocated to various dog rescue organizations to help cover veterinary care, shelter costs, and adoption services, crucial for their operations.
A further $5,000 is being donated to the Friends of Frankenmuth Police to support initiatives that enhance community connections with law enforcement, aiming to foster a safer environment in Frankenmuth.
Michael Keller Zehnder, President of the Bavarian Inn Lodge and Chair of Frankenmuth Dog Bowl, Inc., expressed excitement about the record-breaking donations, stating, "It’s a testament to what’s possible when a community comes together—sponsors, guests, volunteers, and our hard-working team—all united by a shared love of dogs and a desire to give back."
The event is held annually at Frankenmuth River Place Shops. Next year, the Frankenmuth Dog Bowl will celebrate its 20th anniversary.
