The shelter announced on Facebook that anyone interested in adopting Sammy must commit to hosting a birthday party for him next year on June 15. Sammy is a medium-sized Persian mix, available for adoption.
In addition to Sammy, the shelter is currently facing an overcapacity situation, which has led them to issue a Code Red alert for dogs. The number of dogs has surpassed available kennels, resulting in some dogs being housed in emergency kennels and even in the shelter’s offices.
Cincinnati Animal CARE operates as a no-kill organization, taking care to house one dog per kennel for the safety of all animals and staff. The shelter is open daily from noon to 6 p.m. at 3949 Colerain Ave in Northside, and no appointments are required to meet dogs available for adoption.
