Free Vaccine Clinic for Pets at Athens Area Humane Society This Saturday

The Athens Area Humane Society (AAHS), a non-profit no-kill animal shelter, will host a free vaccine clinic for dogs and cats on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at their facility located at 1030 Mitchell Bridge Road. The clinic is open to the first 200 animals that arrive, and no prior appointments or registrations are necessary.

To receive treatment, cats must be in carriers and dogs must be leashed. Pets should be at least three months old, and owners must provide proof of residency along with a valid email address. Vaccines offered include a rabies shot, the DA2PP vaccine for dogs, and the FVRCP vaccine for cats. Microchips will also be available for qualifying pets while supplies last, with a limit of three pets per household.

In addition to the clinic, AAHS will run a free pet food pantry drive-thru called Full Bellies Food Bowl, providing wet and dry food, toys, and cat litter for dogs and cats while supplies last. Pets deemed unsafe may be declined treatment, and AAHS advises that aggressive pets should wear muzzles.
