Friends of Manatee County Animal Welfare Marks 10 Years of Service to Homeless Pets

The Friends of Manatee County Animal Welfare (FoMCAW) celebrated its 10th anniversary with a birthday bash at Sarasota Dog Bar on Sunday, from noon to 4 p.m. The event attracted community members and their pets, featuring food, drinks, raffles, silent auctions, and pet-friendly activities.

Guests enjoyed complimentary dog baths, cupcakes, and pet treat bags, as well as the opportunity to meet adoptable animals and shop from local vendors. Additionally, the celebration served as a collection drive for pet food, toys, and other donations.

Over the past decade, FoMCAW has funded lifesaving medical treatments and surgeries for shelter animals throughout Manatee County. The organization has supplied dog beds, enrichment materials, treated heartworm-positive dogs, and supported the adoption of thousands of homeless pets. Organizers highlighted the anniversary as a testament to community support and their commitment to improving the lives of animals in need.
