Several theories were considered regarding her appearance, including the possibility that her fur had been dyed or stained by an external substance. However, Amarillo's visual condition was not her only concern; she was severely dehydrated and had excessively long claws, indicating she had been neglected for an extended period. Despite her challenging circumstances, Amarillo displayed a loving and cheerful demeanor, eagerly seeking attention from her rescuers.
The team initiated her cleaning process, which required an impressive sixteen baths to remove the yellow tint from her fur. After seven baths, the color began to fade significantly, and eventually, Amarillo returned to her natural and healthy appearance. Currently, she is known for her friendly nature, getting along well with children, dogs, and cats, and displaying a love for walks and adventures. The shelter hopes to find her a permanent home soon.
