Urgent Appeal by Animal Rescue Charity Amid Surge in Cat Welfare Cases

The charity has announced it can no longer accept emergency cat referrals due to capacity issues, describing the current crisis as one of its most challenging periods. In a message to supporters, the charity expressed its sorrow, stating, "Every single one breaks our hearts, and every single one deserves help."

Many of the cats needing urgent care are reported to have health issues, come from neglectful environments, or require veterinary treatment and assessment before being placed into foster homes.

The charity emphasized the importance of not overwhelming its foster carers or risking the spread of illness by taking in more animals than it can support.

Further complicating the situation, financial pressures have increased due to the cancellation of the Bark in the Park dog show, which was called off because of extreme heat. This event was expected to generate critical fundraising for the charity, which has led to a significant shortfall in its budget for veterinary expenses.

As a result, any new requests for cat surrenders have been placed on a waiting list until space becomes available. The charity urgently seeks:

- Foster homes for cats and kittens

- Safe outdoor accommodation or cattery-style spaces

- Monthly donors to assist with neutering, vaccinations, and emergency care

- Donations for building additional cattery facilities

- Volunteers for fundraising and awareness efforts
